Carroll
Ok ok, early days from long term injury but..

You cant deny that Sakho, Moses and even Zarate and Valencia are preferred striker options when fit,

Carroll hardly closes down their defence, and almost never attack them with the ball.
Stationary header at best, and now he isnt even close to that.

Im not surprised if he is sold in jan

Re: Carroll
Dreadfully disappointed with that showing. I don't think he got involved in anything significant.

They weren't even their first choice central defenders.

The only thing I can think of is that Bilic told him not to chuck himself around like a nutter?

And we have another 4 years of it to look forward to.

Re: Carroll
I'd take anything above 7m for him in Jan if offered. Been a total and utter waste of money.

People were taking the piss when it seemed we were interested in that Gomis last season. I'd say he's better than Carroll.

Re: Carroll
Hang on P you had him in your England squad but a few months back you absolute lunch...

Bloke is a waste of space and waste of money... if we stuck him up for sale I reckon no would want him or could afford the lump... give me Hateley/Hartford/Cross/Dixon/Smith anytime over him...

Behind Jelavic for me.

The new Carlton Cole. We wont be able to rid the guy!

He's a good player, and when he's back fully fit i think he'll be important fo rus.

Re: Carroll
Hang on, you div - this was his first start after a serious injury. Apologies if he didn't hit International form immediately, like you would have done.

LaindonHammer16 10:11 Wed Sep 23
Re: Carroll
He will be sold or kept as a back up for when we go in with a different system in my opinion.

Bilic's style of play and players he likes remind me of Simeone at Atletico, everyone puts in some serious graft proper team ethic etc.

Just my take on it.

Re: Carroll
I think a new start for him and us might be the best move, I am sure the barcodes would take him back.

Re: Carroll
P... hand on heart... when is he ever going to be fully fit... you might have a different viewpoint if you was handing over 90 large a fookin' week for the lump...

Surely one thing Carroll does do is work his bollocks off!?

collyrob 10:15 Wed Sep 23
Re: Carroll
he's clearly a good player, and will be a great impact sub if we're chasing a game.

right now sakho is undroppable, so big andy will have to do something special to get regular starts.

Steve P 10:15 Wed Sep 23
Re: Carroll
Well, hand on heart - did you expect him to look on top form?

charleyfarley 10:16 Wed Sep 23
Re: Carroll
Speculation was that he got the hump for being taken off and went straight down the tunnel last night, not true it was taters at Leicester last night, Carroll went down the tunnel to get a weasel before returning to the bench

LaindonHammer16 10:17 Wed Sep 23
Re: Carroll
Yes he does but in my opinion with the system we have been playing players like sakho/valencia are more effective in that role.

Sven Roeder 10:17 Wed Sep 23
Re: Carroll
I wouldn't judge anyone on one game after months and months out but he has a lot of work to do to justify his place.
I still like having the lump as an option late in games but he is an expensive Plan B.
If Newcastle are bumping along as they are now by Christmas the push for the return of Andy to save them could get loud.
If they are desperate and open the wallet wide enough I could see us jumping at it.

LeroysBoots 10:20 Wed Sep 23
Re: Carroll
He just doesnt fit our style of play anymore, he upsets the dynamic of the team

I reckon off to the bar codes come Jan

Re: Carroll
So having a pop at him on the match thread wasn't enough for you, you had to go and start a thread about it? Prick.

He won't go anywhere in Jan, either.
